Join Paradise Recreation and Park District and the Monarch Fellowship  (Paradise Hub) to support monarch butterflies, pollinators, and the nature environment. We will provide all the supplies, and education to build confidence with sowing seeds in pots, and your own backyard. Everyone is welcome and no prior experience sowing seeds is needed.

A map showing the "Paradise Hub" location for signing up for free milkweed and nectar plants from the Monarch Fellowship.

Narrowleaf milkweed is the featured plant in the monarch hub along with other California native nectar plants. This species of milkweed is a crucial host plant for monarch caterpillars, providing essential nutrients for their development. The monarch population has declined significantly, and we are here to help monarchs one host plant at a time! We can support their cause by restoring habitat right at home through native plant gardening.

Volunteers needed to help with:

  • Sow seeds for giveaways
  • Water plants
  • Monitor plants
  • Tending to the monarch hub plant site
  • Giveaways
  • Monarch champion

We provide training in all categories. If you are eager to learn, love the outdoors, and care about pollinators this project is for you!
