Impact Fees

May contain: map, diagram, and plot

The Paradise Recreation and Park District charges an Impact Fee for those building (or rebuilding) any structure that has living space.  Fees are assessed based on the Butte County Assessor Office's records of previous dwelling square footage of living space.

At this time, there is only a charge for an increase of living space or new construction on a property that previously did not have a structure. There is currently no charge on commercial or non-living space construction (hobby buildings/garages).

The current Impact Fee structure and rate went into effect in 2015.

Impact fees benefit the community by providing funding for upkeep and improvements to parks, facilities, and programs within that community.  These funds offset the impact from all persons residing in the community while ensuring public spaces for community use.

Fees are based on living space of dwellings within the boundaries of the District.  Our District includes the communities of Paradise, Magalia, Concow, Yankee Hill, and Butte Creek Canyon, and the rural areas in between.

The Paradise Recreation and Park District currently charges $0.82 per square foot of increase (or new construction for single family residences on a parcel that previously had no record of a dwelling).  The impact fee per square foot is the same, no matter if a homeowner/builder is building/rebuilding in the Town of Paradise or in unincorporated areas of Butte County within the District boundaries.  Fees for a multi-family dwelling are $1.49 per square foot of increase or new construction.

Fees can be paid in person at the PRPD Office Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm, over the phone, or via email with a credit card.
