Park Maintenance II (1.0 Full - Time)

Position Overview
Park Maintenance II: Under the supervision of Park Maintenance III (Park Foreman), the Park Maintenance Supervisor or Park Superintendent performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks involving the maintenance, construction, repair, and overall upkeep of the District’s parks and facilities and is subject to any and all duties assigned at any District Park, facility, or function that is appropriate to the position.
Park Maintenance II Salary Range: $22.47 to $25.30 per hour (All positions start at Step 1 in the Salary Range)
***Applicants with at least 5 years experience in carpentry and electrician skills preferred***
• Daily inspection of the park and facilities therein for the purpose of providing a safe, clean, and functional area for recreation
• Pest and weed control, herbicide and pesticide use
• Inventory, documentation, and safe storage of chemicals used for park and facility maintenance including pesticides, herbicides, cleaning/disinfecting supplies, and the maintenance and repair of related equipment
• Observe and report to supervisor construction maintenance needs as they occur
• Small project development including planning, review with supervisor, construction, and ensuing maintenance
• Documentation of hazards, maintenance requirements, and program assistance with record keeping of subsequent action or repair
• Provide training and positive example in the safe use and care of equipment assigned to fellow staff, outside contract crews, and volunteers
• Program and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
• Create and maintain list for regular building maintenance and custodial service for the direction of staff, outside contract crews, or volunteers
• Minor electrical and plumbing repair and maintenance
• Scheduling equipment and staff for the purpose of patron services
• Maintenance of public pools and related facilities including cleaning, backwashing, pool equipment care, and chemical maintenance

Recreation Leader I - Tiny Tots Teacher (Part-Time 0.50 FTE )

The Paradise Recreation and Park District (PRPD) is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Recreation Leader I – Tiny Tots Teacher to help the lead Tiny Tots Teacher in fostering a positive, creative, stimulating, educational, and fun learning environment for children ages 3-5 years.
Key Responsibilities:
· Creating a safe, nurturing environment, while fostering social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
· Leading age-appropriate lessons (colors, letters, numbers, shapes, social skills) through play, songs, games, and storytelling.
· Facilitating arts and crafts activities.
· Supervising children during all routines (meals, play, activities), enforce rules, maintain order, manage behavior, and ensure a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment.
· Guiding children in interacting, sharing, resolving conflicts, building self-esteem, and developing independence.
· Maintaining a clean classroom to ensure sanitary conditions.
· Maintaining strong parent communication.
This is a dynamic role with the opportunity to support the littles of our community as they are introduced to education with a focus on fun, social-engagement, and play. From day-to-day activities in the classroom to seasonal events such as the Tiny Voices holiday concert, Easter egg hunt, summer water play days, Halloween carnival, and everything in between, you'll play a key part in making each Tiny Tot feel happy, safe and engaged.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.90 - $21.47 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
