Camp Courage

Camp Courage is a five-day adventure camp driven by the opportunity to share exciting activities that foster leadership development and community building. Through teambuilding exercises, adventure programming, and classic outdoor recreation principles such as self-reflection, goal setting, and gratitude awareness, participants will be treated to five days of “fun with a purpose”. This trauma and resiliency informed day camp will visit several providers in the Outdoor Education for All partnership in order to experience standards-based activities that meet a series of Healing through Nature initiative goals.

Day 1 –STEM Day at Terry Ashe Center, Science experiments and cool technology exploration
Day 2 – Meet atTerry Ashe Center then travel by van to Forebay Aquatic Center for Kayaking, moutain biking, stand up paddle boarding
Day 3 – Meet at Terry Ashe Center then travel to Paradise Lake-hiking, kayaking, art projects

Day 4- Meet at Terry Ashe Center then travel to Chico Ecological Reserve for hiking, ecoloical education, nature journaling.

Day 5- Meet at Terry Ashe Center then travel to Bille Park for large scale tecm activities such as: water balloon launching, & yard games. 

Participants need to bring a swim suit and towel on day 2, and a water bottle all days.

Dates: July 17-21, Mon-Fri, 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Location: Meet at Terry Ashe Recreation Center and travel in PRPD Vans
Fees: $175.00 (includes lunch and transportation to and from Forebay Aquatic Center, Paradise Lake, Chico Ecological Reserve & Bille Park)
