Recreation Program Specialist Position (0.75 FTE with potential for full time for the right

candidate and demonstrated excellence in the role)
Event Planner

Salary Range: $24.50 to $28.50 per hour
All positions start at step 1 on the salary scale.

We seek effective communicators with relationship building/management, event planning, marketing, branding, social media, and outreach experience. Successful candidate will work with great people in meaningful work that has implications across the state. Help the residents of the District prosper and build new favorite memories participating in multi-generational fun events and activities. Energy and optimism required.

The successful candidate for the Event Planner position will align District events and activities with the District vision of rebuilding a sense of community and highlighting the beautiful places and wonderful organizations and people that make up the communities the District serves. The District plays an important role in making the communities we serve a fun and energetic place to live. We seek to bring joy and build multi-generation memories with events that become annual events that people look forward to attending and sponsors look forward to funding to align their brands with these community-wide events and activities.

Under the general direction of the District Manager, the Event Planner performs responsible, professional outreach, logistics planning, communication, marketing, branding, social media campaigns, event budget planning, identifying support staff needs, and relationship building/management related to event sponsorship. The ideal candidate must be an outstanding, collaborative, flexible team player, keen to engage in positive, supportive professional relationships and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with partners, patrons, staff, and other individuals.

Successful candidates will have appropriate education and experience. A combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. One way, but not the only way, to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

  • Completion or pursuit of Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree.
  • Current college level coursework in Recreation Administration, business administration, event planning, communications, and/or a related field.

Administrative Assistant I Position (0.5 FTE)
Salary Range: $18.54 to $22.83 per hour DOE

We are seeking someone to provide the District with administrative assistance to the administrative staff and community members.

Duties may include: _
Serve as a front office receptionist to assist the public and perform clerical duties
Provide guidance to patrons assisting and processing program registration, facility rentals, refunds, and

Development Impact Fees
Document reservations and notify maintenance staff of setup requirements
Assist with the writing and production of the District Activity Guide
Prepare program data, schedules, and materials
Prepare documents for special projects, reports, evaluations, marketing materials and correspondence
Balance daily cash and make bank deposits
Manage contracts and partnership agreements coordinating with staff and vendors, track requirements and

deadlines, develop invoices against contracts, receive and process payments
Maintain the front office filing system and online documents
Maintain the webpage, program registration software, online marketing and social media, electronic timesheet

system
Be a collaborative, flexible team player, keen to engage in positive professional relationships with patrons,

staff and vendorsAssist District Manager and provide direction to other Administrative staff in support of required applications and reporting procedures to ensure grant compliance.

Skills Include :
Strong understanding of policies, procedures, and practices of the District
Knowledge of office administrative processes, procedures and functions
Ability to maintain filing systems, and computer data systems
Strong knowledge of basic math, spelling, English and grammar
Ability to work independently while also able to work cooperatively with others
Excellent time management skills with the ability to appropriately plan, organize, prioritize, delegate and

review work in order to meet schedules, competing tasks, assignments, and ongoing projects
Good listening, diplomacy, and analytical skills

Tiny Tots Classroom Aide - Now Hiring for Winter Sessions

The Paradise Recreation and Park District(PRPD) is excited to offer this position for Recreation Aide for the Winter Season of 2023. Working with the LEGENDARY Lori McCoslin, this position will assist the program director in the day to day operations inherent in the Tiny Tots curriculum.  From arts and crafts, to supervising outdoor play, to assisting with seasonal programming such as the Tiny Voices Sing, Santa's arrival, and the Halloween Party, this position will include training in best practices for working with participants ages 3 - 5 years old.
