This is a training program that will prepare interested teens to try out for the position of Swim Aide in the summer swim lesson program.

Water Saftey Instructor Training

This class is dedicated to developing the skills you will need to instruct and plan courses in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program

Wildlife Illustration

Create realistic black and white drawings of your favorite animals using pencil and charcoal. Discover professional tips for composing your pictures from sketching in important elements to the smallest details. Learn to control opaque and transparent
layering techniques. Create textures of fur, feathers, and scales. Embellish your masterpiece with contrast, shading, shadows, and reflections to maximize three dimensional characteristics. Complete a drawing you will be proud to display.

Botanical Illustration

Create scientific illustrations of exotic flowers, leafy foliage, tantalizing fruit, and seeds – even carnivorous. Draw flora to scale, add texture, shadows, and balance as you transfer visual references to paper. Sharpen your drawing skills and pencils as you learn techniques to create 3-dimensional drawings that appear to pop out of the paper! Supplies list available at PRPD office.

Learn to curl, curve, and manipulate sterling silver wire to make findings for semi-precious gems and stones into wearable pendants. Bring flat nose pliers, round nose pliers, and cutters to class.

Tracing family history is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the United States. This introductory class is open to all levels
and beginner to advanced volunteers will teach you how to find your ancestors. All materials are provided free from the Paradise Genealogy Society.
