THERAPEUTIC YOGA
(BEGINNERS THROUGH ADVANCED BEGINNERS)
Therapeutic Yoga is particularly recommended for men and
women with low back, neck hip or knee “challenges”. The
instructor, herself dealing with fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, kyphosis,
and scoliosis, knows personally the incredible benefits of
Therapeutic Yoga. The instructor is a former faculty member of
the College of Notre Dame, Belmont as a Kinesiology Consultant,
ballet and modern dance instructor and has over 45 years of
experience in teaching dance, fitness, and movement. As a
Certified Massage Therapist, the instructor is also qualified to
make individual adjustments. Students will be gently coached
in correct alignment in each Asana (pose) and accompanying
Pranayama (breath). Meditational Centering, excellent warm-ups,
and careful guidance will help you avoid injuries. YOU are the only
person in the class and yet part of the WHOLE. “In JOY in myself”– Eckhardt Tolle. Bring a Yoga Sticky Mat, large towel and water
bottle. Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing. You are encouraged

WINTER’S END MINDFULNESS **NEW**
This five week class will explore an integrated
Mindfulness Meditation practice to
promote balance and harmony in body, mind,
and spirit. Each week we will experience a combination of
Mindfulness Meditation, indoor Walking Meditation, and
Qigong (gentle energy exercises). Sowing the seeds of mindfulness
at the end of winter can help us move forward with
resiliency, clarity, and peace. Learn to tap into the benefits
of nourishing present moment awareness through meditation.
These techniques and philosophies are non-religious
and the class is appropriate for beginning and continuing
meditation students. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing.
The instructor is a Registered Nurse, a Certified
Meditation Specialist and a member of the American Holistic

FALL PREVENTION – BALANCE & MOBILTY TRAINING
Cardiovascular endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility
training are all needed to help stay independent. Improving
posture and balance helps strengthen weak muscle groups
in the back, core, hips, and the legs improving mobility which
limits the risks of falls. This class focuses on posture awareness
exercises, deep breathing, and static balance. Exercises
are done in a chair or standing. Wear comfortable clothing
and prepare to have fun! Our instructor is arthritis and senior
certified.

PILATES MAT CLASS
Bring your mat and enjoy this relaxing total body workout
while learning breathing techniques, body posture, balance,
and muscle control for a strong lean body. This class is perfect
for everyone. Our instructor has been certified to teach
Pilates for eight years and has shared her enthusiasm and
knowledge at local health clubs.

TAE KWON DO
Students will learn the Chung Do Kwon style of Tae Kwon Do
developing power, speed, focus, balance, and control through
basics, forms, non-contact sparring, and other drills. Tae Kwon
Do is a great overall workout developing strength, flexibility, and
cardiovascular conditioning. The chief instructor is a 5th degree
Black Belt in the USA Tae Kwon Do Masters Association.
Uniforms are optional for white belts and can be purchased
from the instructor for $25. Test fees are extra. For more information

Beginning Yoga
This on-going Hatha Yoga class includes a combination of gentle
and moderately challenging poses designed to increase body
flexibility, balance, and stamina. Instilling peaceful mindfulness
into the practice of each pose, the class will leave you’ve feeling
more refreshed, relaxed, and rejuvenated! Everyone can reap
the benefits derived from practicing Yoga! Our certified instructor
has been practicing Hatha Yoga for over twenty years and for
the last five years has been teaching at a local fitness club. As
a long time practitioner of meditation, and as a Reiki Master,
Jahnavi creates and instills a meditative atmosphere in her classes
promoting greater stress reduction. Students need to bring
a yoga mat and blanket to class. A yoga strap is also recommended.
